Animals, My Adventure

Director of the Berlin Zoo from 1932 to 1945, Lutz Heck recounts his experiences with animals in his book Animals, My Adventure. In Part I, Heck describes his expeditions to capture animals in Africa, in Part II Heck details his experiences at the Berlin Zoo during the Second World War, in Part III, Heck describes his expeditions to Canada, and in Part IV, Heck details his attempts to resurrect extinct species such as the aurochs and the tarpan.
